Once again, great stuff from the priest. The best songs are the title track, riding on the wind and the devils child. priest comes up with a classic metal album for the masses. They made classics before vengence, but they wern't the most popluar of albums like this one was.
There's many great songs, such as "(Take These) Chains" and the title track. It was a great improvement from "Point of Entry" which was a big disappointment for many Priest fans. I am not saying that this is a bad album at all. I had no thoughts to buy this album until I find it on a list in which it was ranked as one of the essential metal albums of all time. But still.there's two songs I don't like so much: "Fever" and "Pain And Pleasure".Stars: Screaming for Vengeance, (Take These) Chains, You've Got Another Thing Comin' This one is a great album but the albums like "Sad Wings of Destiny" and "Stained Class" are true classics. That list was quite good but I cannot understand why they chose this one. You could say that many Priest fans were happy while listening to this in 1982.
for me the stand out cuts are;the hellion/electric eye, riding on the wind, fever, youv,e got another thing comin and devil,s child.this album is an essential for a priest fan. judas priest,s screaming for vengeance may have been one of the best albums of their carreer.vengeance was released in 1982, 2 years after their landmark album british steel.i was lucky enough to see judas priest on the vengeance tour.they were great and one of the loudest concerts i,ve ever been to. i really like this album quite a bit.
songs like "Electric Eye", "Take These Chains", "Bloodstone" and "You Got Another Thing Comin'" are some of Priest's best songs yet. Let's face it, SFV is the band's last good album before Painkiller arrived. I know this review is short, but words are not enough to describe how awesome this album is. The bonus tracks are a good addition and in total, this album is a must for any metal fan. Defenders of the Faith sucked, Turbo was worse, and Ram it Down was the nail in the coffin. Thank god Robby waited at least one more album before leaving.
With an album as consistent yet varied as this, its just about the best they've ever done that is how good it is. From the opening track the Hellion, through "Riding on the Wind" Bloodstone" and more mellower songs like "Chains" and "Fever" the band never sounded so good. By far and away PRIEST'S best album.you got another thing comin' might be the hit,but it is also the slackest song on this album. One of the defining albums of the glory years of 80s heavy metal. capturing a band at the height of their powers and featuring the track which brought them stardom in America "you've got another thing coming".
